Smart Lists: How-To and FAQ

Smart Lists turn a search into a living list. Set your criteria once and the list keeps itself current. Players appear automatically as they start to match, and drop off when they no longer do.

A Watchlist holds the players you add to it. A Smart List holds whoever matches your criteria.

Smart Lists require a Premium or Pro subscription. Premium accounts can create up to 3 Smart Lists. Pro accounts have no limit.

1. How to create a Smart List

  • Open Advanced Search
  • Build your search using any combination of filters
  • Save the search as a Smart List 
  • Give the list a name and save

The list populates immediately with every player who matches.

2. How Smart Lists update

Your criteria are checked daily. Players who have started matching are added. Players who no longer match are removed. You never re-run the search.

A player can stop matching for ordinary reasons. The most common are a transfer to a league outside your criteria, or ageing out of a birth year range. Removal is not an error.

3. Alerts

Two things tell you what changed:

  • A daily email digest listing what was added and removed across your lists
  • In-app alert badges on the lists that changed

4. Sharing

Smart Lists can be shared with other Elite Prospects users. To have a Smart List shared with you, you need at least a Premium subscription. Free accounts cannot receive shared Smart Lists.

FAQ

What is the difference between a Smart List and a Watchlist?
A Watchlist holds the specific players you add to it. A Smart List holds whoever matches your criteria on a given day. Use a Watchlist to track named players. Use a Smart List to track a type of player.

How many Smart Lists can I create?
Premium accounts can create up to 3. Pro accounts have no limit. Smart Lists are not available on Plus/free accounts. 

What happens to my Smart Lists if I downgrade?
The latest Smart Lists above the threshold of your subscription will be locked and available if you upgrade again.

Can I add or remove players manually?
No. A Smart List is defined entirely by its criteria. To change who is on it, change the criteria.

Why did a player disappear from my Smart List?
They stopped matching your criteria, usually because of a transfer or an age range rolling over.

Is there a player limit per Smart List?
Each Smart List can hold up to 5,000 players. 

If your criteria match more than 5,000 players, we recommend further narrowing your criteria. Narrowing your criteria, for example by adding a league or a birth year range, will bring the list under the limit.
